As you explore the menu, choices abound that excite the palate. For those seeking milder but no less flavorful options, the Chao Mian stands out—a satisfying medley of toasted cabbage, baby bok choy, and tender noodles finished with rich oyster sauce. The Cashew Prawns or Scallops deliver a luxurious seafood experience, with broccoli crowns, crunchy roasted cashews, and vibrant vegetables glazed in their signature master sauce, creating a harmony of textures and tastes. Those craving smoky depths will find the Smoked Pork Noodle an irresistible blend of house-smoked pork with fresh bok choy and cabbage entwined in savory chao mian noodles.
For more adventurous spice seekers, Gordy’s crafts dishes that pack a flavorful punch without overwhelming. The Kung Pao Salmon masterfully combines tender salmon with the numbing heat of Sichuan peppercorns, roasted peanuts, and a smoky chili glaze, enhanced by a colorful stir-fry of vegetables. Or the aromatic Basil Chicken, stir-fried with Thai basil and a touch of black vinegar, offers a piquant yet balanced medium spice level to tantalize the taste buds.
Appetizers like their beloved dumplings come highly recommended by first-timers and regulars alike—served with a delicious chili oil and fresh greens, they set the perfect tone for the meal ahead. Coupled with thoughtfully sourced beverages, such as a crisp Sanpellegrino Lemonada or classic Coke, your dining experience becomes complete.
Customer feedback reinforces the restaurant’s strong points: Craig Hunt fondly recalls the family’s longstanding dedication and freshness of ingredients, Amanda Doll praises the consistent flavorful dishes and great service, while J.B. highlights the perfectly portioned and vibrant numbing sensation of authentic Sichuan spices. A.Y commends the knowledgeable and attentive male server, emphasizing the well-leveled spice profiles and welcoming atmosphere. Even first-timers like Tatiana LeBret consider Gordy’s a hidden gem worth returning to for the exquisite dumplings and attentive service.

For decades, family-run Gordy’s has served up tasty Chinese cuisine, ingredients are fresh, and flavors range from Hunan to Taiwan. Fun fact, years ago, Elon Musk’s mom (dietitian and author) Maye Musk, gave a presentation in Spokane, long story short, my wife and I took Elon’s mother to Gordy’s for an enjoyable dinner. Arrive early, or expect potential hour-long waits, or hang out in the adjoining bar room aka The Dojo. One visit is not enough for a restaurant like Gordy’s!
Update: After the owner invited us back to give them another try, we decided to today as the reviews have turned around and been very positive. We were greeted immediately as we walked in. It was early and we were one of the few in the restaurant. We wanted to try the dumplings again but opted for different entrees. Everything we ordered was hot and had amazing flavors. Our waiter was great and just showed what we were hoping for last time. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu. 1/24 Came in for an early dinner and was immediately sat, the restaurant was pretty open. The person who greeted us asked where we preferred and we asked to be on the secondary side of the restaurant. It was much quieter there, but pretty sure we were forgotten about (or maybe just slow service?). We ordered the dumplings to start, and when they came out, they were lukewarm at best. I feel like this drew away from the actual flavor and took away from the quality of our meal. We also ordered Dan Dan noodles and hunan beef. As my 1st time eating Sichuan, I went in with an open mind and was excited to try a few dishes. The lack of service from our waitress ( only saw her a few times, and got the feeling we weren't her priority) and the food not being it's best definitely left a lot to be desired. I sadly had a thought that Panda would have been a lot cheaper and better. We also asked for a cup of soup, and not only did we never receive it, but it was on the bill. When we brought it to her attention , the was no apology or acknowledgement that it was missed. I think there is a lot of room for improvement, and would be excited to try again if some adjustments are made.
Great place to get your tongue numb from the Sichuan peppers. Food was pricey, but was flavorful. Portions were just right. Not too small & not too big. The dumplings were in a delicious oil with bakchoy and other veggies. A must try for appetizers. The dan dan noodles really numbed the tongue, but had a comfort taste to it. Orange chicken was crunchy & well seasoned. Waiter provided good customer service and we were checked on multiple times if we needed anything. 3 dishes & a few drinks for about $55. Overall clean place with unique art up from a featured artist. Looking forward to going back and trying more dishes. Parking is plentiful.
Tried this restaurant for the first time, I am very pleased with our male server; he knew his stuff on what’s on the menu, his customers service was an 10/10. The food was delicious, wait time 10-15min. As for Spice levels, they were well leveled for each dish. Will definitely come back again and try more dishes. Suggestion for the female worker at the front desk: if your going to prep food at the front counter please don’t be eating the ingredients in-front of your customers AKA: the beans).
Absolutely a hidden gem! The service was great and very attentive as we were first timers. Highly recommend the dumplings. So delicious.
